The company was founded in 1945 as a division of Tata Group and produces locomotives. Together we developed Daimler-Benz AG and in 1954 we built a commercial vehicle for the first time. It ended in 1969 and entered the automobile market in 1991.

Tata Sierra was founded in 1991 and was the first company in India to produce competitive cars. In 1998, Indica and Tata Nano were released in 2008. We bought the Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Company in 2004 and bought Ford’s Jaguar Land Rover in 2008. In November 2015, Lionel Messi became Tata Motors’ ambassador for advertising photography around the world.

Tata Marcopolo is a joint venture between Marcopolo SA and Tata Motors, which is dedicated to the construction of buses and buses for the Indian transport system.
